OUR TRUSTEES

Mohammed Altaf

Mohammed Altaf arrived in the UK with little more than a sharp mind and a distinctive character. Despite having no formal qualifications, his strong numerical skills earned him a job in banking. Seeking more than corporate life could offer, he co-founded Pak Foods with his brothers, of whom he was the eldest.
Alongside his business success, Mohammed Altaf has been deeply involved in charitable work. He served as an executive trustee for Midland Doctors, supporting their hospital in Muzaffarabad, which has earned widespread recognition for its vital service to the people of Azad Kashmir. His wealth of experience in both business and charity equips him to bring a strategic and compassionate approach to Pak Foundation’s mission.
Now retired, he enjoys golf, cricket, and spending time with his grandchildren. His dedication to both business and charitable causes continues to inspire the work of the Foundation.

Mohammed Nawas

Mohammed Nawaz pursued higher education in Lahore, Pakistan, before joining his brothers in the UK, where he completed a master’s degree. With a background in engineering and a remarkable ability to absorb knowledge quickly, he adapted well to the demands of running Pak Foods alongside his brothers. He led in designing purpose-built stores and helped create spaces for other independent businesses through property development and regeneration.
His commitment to philanthropy began at the age of 17, when he helped build a road in his native village. Today, he is working with Pak Foundation towards his lifelong dream: creating a large, modern, and architecturally distinctive school in Kandore, the family’s home village. Having once studied on a bare floor with a slate tablet, he believes quality education should be a universal right. In his free time, Nawaz enjoys gardening, reading, and exploring subjects like history, literature, and theology.
His experience in real estate and the built environment is invaluable to Pak Foundation as it works towards creating sustainable community spaces and educational developments.

Abdul Salam Malik

Abdul Salam Malik brings a unique blend of public sector experience and entrepreneurial drive to the Pak Foundation. A retired local government officer with 14 years of service, he went on to lead and successfully sell multiple businesses and now serves as a trustee of three charities. His expertise spans governance improvement, organisational and policy development, executive recruitment, and fundraising. With a deep understanding of the Islamic voluntary and charity sectors and extensive experience in international fundraising, he plays a key role in shaping the Foundation’s tactical direction and its charitable impact.

Adeel Akhtar

Adeel Akhtar is the Director of Pak Foods and represents the next generation of the family now leading the business. With experience managing a multi-site retail operation with a significant turnover, he brings strong commercial insight and operational expertise to the Foundation. His day-to-day role includes overseeing finance, legal matters, and accounts, as well as managing and acquiring property. Adeel’s forward-thinking approach and financial acumen play a vital role in supporting the long-term growth of Pak Foundation’s altruistic projects.
